My daughter was recently married in an outdoor setting. I've been to other outdoor ceremonies where you can't really hear what's going on due to the wind, birds, etc. There was no power available so I looked into renting a portable PA system. I didn't find one available. There were systems that required power that rent for almost the cost of the Samson, so I gambled and bought my own system. The Samson worked great. The best man sang and played his electric acoustic guitar at one point in the ceremony and it sounded terrific. We had set it up the day before during rehearsal to find the best setting for mixing the vocals and guitar, an easy thing to do.
After the DJ shutdown at 10pm at the reception, in a large barn, we fired up the Samson and played the music on our iPhones. The Samson was running on batteries until 2am with no issues, this was after being used at the ceremony.
We've recharged it and used several times since then and it's still working great. The Mic is crystal clear and has great range. The speaker, while mono, sounds like a concert speaker, if you know what I mean.
I bought the On Stage SS7730 speaker stand with it to keep it off the ground for improved sound. They work perfectly together.
I would definitely recommend this product.
