I bought one of the original Passport P-150 systems (has the same face as the current PD-150/P-250) many years ago. It has been carted around the country, used for a wide variety of PA applications, and for the past 5 years has been in use in a home theater with the power on the entire time. This is a versatile, durable system.

My uses include: multimedia demonstrations on computer systems, portable guitar amplifier, PA system, patio parties, occasional public presentations, home theater, and who knows what else when I lent it out over the years. I haven't had any problems the entire time, and every user has thought that it was the best thing since sliced bread. I should note that I've never used it for live performances, so i'll defer to the other reviewers regarding suitability in that arena.

For small offices and home use this is just the right size. It functions right along with my Bose accoustic wave system in these applications - a bit louder but much more versatile. In my home theater applications, i may plug in a Strat or Les Paul and play along with a concert that's also playing through the P-150. I also practice occasionally through the P-150 because it's easier that dragging out a guitar amplifier (i should note that the bass on the P-150 is not its strong suit - so running a bass guitar through it may prove disappointing. We ran both a bass and a guitar through it once for S&Gs - not recommended.). I've used a variety of pedals (wah wah, distortion, etc.) with the 150 to great effect. It's pretty cool to play with. The mixer and reverb are adequate enough for voice/instrument. The line inputs do not require preamp. This is a basic multi-purpose system, so don't expect effects loops.

This unit does emit some low level buzz at half volume (the setting I've left it on for 5 years with the power on) - even in home use this typically blends into the ambient noise background.

The inexpensive foam filter wore out many years ago. A little 7"x1.5" piece of 3/16" window air conditioner foam fits perfectly and will last for years. When continuously on, I clean the filter every few months - filter has frontal easy-access.

I've been really pleased with the P-150 for the entire time I've owned it. What I've appreciated most is its versatility and small size. Recommended.
