To start, this does NOT run off batteries at all. It has two AA batteries for your settings. You could not have this quality and performance off of batteries.

Short review:

Sound 4.7/5 O
-Only a klipsch beats this in terms of sound quality. From what I have heard personally (Of about 12 different brands of my price range under $500)

Features 5/5
-3 different hard wired ways to use it (iPhone 5, USB and RCA)
-Bluetooth
-Literally anything with audio out will connect to this with the right cable. TV, Xbox, literally anything

Build quality 5/5
-This thing survives a drop
-I am not afraid to leave this with my dumb friends and have anything happen to it
-Even at max volume the sound doesn't blow the speakers or anything close to it

Long review:

This thing sounds great. It supplies enough sound for a fraternity party. But also sounds good when in conjunction with my record player, iPod, TV or Xbox.

It reaches the highs and lows well. There is little to no muffle, even at the highest sound levels. I can hear whatever my favorite wrapper is quickly rapping (Not perfectly but it doesn't sound like total mush).

Two of these can be used together. Not via bluetooth though. Through an RCA splitter these can be used for stereo sound.

The lights can be turned off if that isn't your style.

The buttons react quickly. I know some systems have a delay between a button press and something happening but not here. It reacts instantly. Great for turning it off quick and flipping through presets.

It does charge your iPhone in the dock as well as most any common device using the USB port.

The bluetooth range is good, feel free to walk around as your phone sits in your pocket.

The bass is strong. If you like thumping music that make you feel it in your abdomen across the room this does it.

If you like normal bass, just hit the big BASS BOOST button and it isn't super heavy, it will compliment your application well.

Is it heavy? Yes. Is it awkward to walk around with? Not at all. I walked 15 minutes with this thing at my side no problem and I'm a skinny, non gym going, guy.

With the EQ you can play rap, classical and anything in-between. It all sounds good.

Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes. This is good for the party person, the TV, music of any genre, and the average music listener.
Would I recommend it to a gamer or movie watcher? No. They need surround sound. This will not do those two justice

I see this lasting for a long time so it is well worth the initial $300

In other words, buy it. It is a good ROI if your in college. It will survive your idiot friends without any damage to the sound. And after college it will last you a long time. Don't but some other cheaper system until you get this, wait an extra 6 months to save money and just get this.
